FOMA members and invited guests enjoyed Anna Conomos-Wedlock’s excellent talk on 20 January.

Anna’s topic was ‘An Athonite Childhood’ – A story tour of the female Monastery of the Annunciation in Ormylia, Greece which is the dependency of Simonopetra Monastery on Mt Athos. The talk included the story of the founder and abbot Elder Aimilianos, the story of the monastery, and her personal recollections and childhood memories. It included photographs and slides. Chaired by FOMA committee member Fr Douglas Dales, the meeting lasted about 90 minutes, with time for questions by the audience.
