Notice of Anna Conomos’s talk
We are pleased to be able to tell you that Anna Conomos-Wedlock has agreed to give us a talk on 20 January.
Many of you will know Anna from pilgrimages and our annual Vasilopita party; those of us who have been privileged to hear her speak know that she is an accomplished professional story-teller. She is able to recount events in a way that makes them both vivid and moving. For those who don’t know her, you can find out more here: www.performancestoryteller.com
The talk will be by Zoom on 20 January at 6:30 PM Greenwich Mean Time. It will last about 45 minutes, with an opportunity for questions afterwards.
The topic Anna has chosen is ‘An Athonite Childhood’ – A story tour of the female Monastery of the Annunciation in Ormylia, Greece which is the dependency of Simonopetra Monastery on Mt Athos. The talk will be the story of the founder and abbot Elder Aimilianos, the story of the monastery, and her personal recollections and childhood memories. It will include photographs and slides.
Please register in advance for this meeting by emailing us at least 48 hours beforehand. We will send you a link to join the Zoom meeting.
