Christmas 2024 Appeal – £10,000+ raised

Thank you to our members from around the world whose kindness and generosity means we have been able to raise much needed emergency funds for our friends at the holy cell of Axion Estin.

In early November we descibed the impact of recent earthquakes on the cell and particularly the threat to the original cell building attached to the church.

The first £5,000 of the funds you helped us to raise was sent to the Fathers in mid December and the balance on 26 December – we thank you for helping us to keep our promise. This is why the Friends of Mount Athos exists and we all should be proud of the speed and generosity of our response at a time when we were really needed.
