SUMMER CONFERENCE 2017

This year’s summer conference will be held on Saturday 10 June at the Tsuzuki Theatre, St Anne’s College, Oxford.

9.00     Divine Liturgy at the Orthodox Church, 1 Canterbury Road

10.45   Coffee and registration in the Tsuzuki Theatre Foyer, St Anne’s College

11.30     Elder Porphyrios and Fr Philoumenos, of the Axion Estin cell on Mount Athos, will speak respectively on monastic life and prayer at the Axion Estin Cell, and the cell’s history and its importance today.

13.00   Buffet lunch

14.15   AGM: reports, election of officers, approval of accounts, and any other business

14.45    Ploutarchos Theocharides, a prominent architect and architectural historian, will give an illustrated talk entitled ‘Architecture on Athos – 10th to Early 17th Centuries’. 

15.45     Deacon Nicholas Price will talk about the 2016 pilgrimage to Cyprus.

16.30   Tea                                                     

17.30   Vigil at 1 Canterbury Road

There is no charge for attending the AGM, but for the rest of the day’s programme (including coffee and tea) the charge is £12.00 (students £6.00). The charge for lunch is £20.00. Please indicate your intentions on the slip below and return it as requested to Frances Jennings.
