The current civil governor of the Holy Mountain is
Aristos Kasmiroglou (Αρίστος Κασμίρογλου) (since April 26, 2010)
2015-2016 is the year of the first tetrad for the Epistasia. The members of the Epistasia for 2015-2016, who took office on June 1, 2015, are:
Geron Paul of the Megisti Lavra, protepistatis (ο Γέροντας Παύλος Λαυριώτης)
Monk Theoktistos of Docheiariou Monastery (Μοναχός Θεόκτιστος Δοχειαρίτης)
Hieromonk Grigorios of Xenophontos Monastery (Ιερομόναχος Γρηγόριος Ξενοφωντινός)
Hieromonk Gabriel of Esphigmenou Monastery (Ιερομόναχος Γαβριήλ Εσφιγμενίτης)

March 8, 2016, Pravoslavie RU Holy Community of Mt. Athos: “the Holy Mountain has become a thoroughfare!”
According to the Romfea Greek news agency, the representatives of the twenty monasteries are sounding an alarm because of the lack of security on Mt. Athos, following upon the illegal entry of the BBC2 film crew with their cameras and equipment at night to produce a recent documentary.
